23 weeks of the freshest certified organic vegetables, fruit and herbs grown in Ontario County for families in the Finger Lakes. This is what the UUCC CSA in Canandaigua offers. The CSA had its first season in 2003 and started its partnership with the Fellenz Family Farm in 2004. It is the oldest CSA in Ontario County and one of the oldest and most well established in the Finger Lakes.
We start our season the first Monday in June and finish up on the first Monday in November. Our distributions are at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Canandaigua at 3024 Cooley Rd., Canandaigua. Distribution starts at 5:15 and goes until 7:00pm.
The UUCC CSA is a Green Sanctuary project of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Canandaigua and is open to all members of the community. The UUCC CSA is committed to the goal of equal access to food for all and sponsors an assistance program to enable people with limited incomes to participate in the CSA.
This year we have Micro shares (4 items a week) available for $15.20 a week, Small shares (6-8 items) for $24.00, and Large shares (10-12 items) for $32.00. We are the only Certified Organic CSA in the area to offer fruit as part of the base share and have fresh cut herbs and hot peppers available on a take what you can use basis throughout the season!
Shares that are not picked up during distribution at the UUCC CSA are stored at the Church when space is available and can be picked up in the basement until they are donated to the gleaners kitchen on Wednesdays. If you’re just running a little late you can always give us a call and we can leave the share for you on the porch for pickup later Monday evening.
For the 23 week season the share prices in full are:
- Micro Share – $349.60
- Small Share – $552
- Large Share – $736
